Polyethylene terephthalate (PET or PETE); Rigid, synthetic fiber and resin, and a member of the polyester polymer family. PET is spun into fibers for permanent printing fabrics, blow molded into disposable beverage bottles and extruded onto photographic film and magnetic recording tape.

It is a thermoplastic material produced by the poly condensation method belonging to the polyester family. It has usage areas such as soft drink, food and beverage containers, synthetic fiber. It is available as amorphous (transparent) and semi-crystalline (opaque and white) material, depending on its heat treatment.
